I created this word from my favorite color, Crimson and
the first word da boy said, Luna.
When Nick was born I suffered horrible complications so was not able to take
care of him. My best friend, Rosalie, stepped in and practically raised Nick for
the first year of his life. Rosalie is Cuban so she spoke quite a bit of spanish
to him and around him so naturally he did too. While I had physical therapy in
the evening Rosalie would sit with Nick on the back porch and stargaze. Nick
would point to the moon and she would tell him “luna”. He never did learn to say
“stars” in spanish but for the longest time he called the moon “luna”.
The chinese kanji on the first side is “red” and the one of the other side is
“moon”. They are both imposed over, what else, a red moon.
